Divij in last eight

NEW DELHI: Fifth seed Divij Sharan defeated Harshana Godamanna of Sri Lanka 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 to move into the quarterfinals of the ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament at Lahore on Wednesday.

Divij will meet compatriot and third seed Sunil Kumar, who ousted Asim Shafik of Pakistan 6-4, 6-2.

The results:

Singles: Pre-quarterfinals: Vivek Shokeen bt Rupesh Roy 6-4, 7-5; Sunil Kumar bt Asim Shafik (Pak) 6-4, 6-2; Divij Sharan bt Harshana Godamanna (Sri) 5-7, 6-3, 7-5; Ashutosh Singh bt Bart Govaerts (Bel) 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles: Semifinals: Shokeen / Ashutosh bt Huai-En Chang / Hsin-Han Lee (Tpe) 6-4, 7-6(7).
