Allahabad: The driver and the assistant driver of Howrah-bound Chambal Express - which had hit a stationary train from behind here on Thursday night injuring half a dozen people and disrupting rail traffic for hours - were suspended on Friday even as the railways ordered an inquiry into the mishap. “The driver of the Gwalior-Howrah bound Chambal Express (2176) Vishnu Dayal, and the assistant driver Tej Singh have been placed under suspension as their alleged negligence, prima facie, appears to have led to the accident,” chief public relations officer of north-central railway, Bagish Kumar Pandey said. He also said that an inquiry has been ordered into the accident which will be conducted by the Commissioner (Railway Safety), north-east circle.
