Attack flayed

PUDUCHERRY: The Federation for People’s Rights, Puducherry, on Friday condemned the attack on social activist Medha Patkar who had gone to West Bengal in connection with the agitation in Nandigram.

In a statement here, the secretary of the outfit, G. Sugumaran, said he subscribed to Ms. Patkar’s view that the incident amounted to attack on democracy.

Demanding immediate arrest of those involved in the attack, he urged the Centre to provide protection to Ms. Patkar.
