‘Many programmes have been started under the National Rural Health Scheme’ ‘A drug testing laboratory and a pharmacy would be set up in Kurukshetra’ CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government will spend Rs.565 crore during the current financial year to provide better health care facilities to people at their doorstep, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced on Diwali-eve. Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a primary health centre at Guda village in Kurukshetra district, he said that Rs.15.74 crore had been earmarked for the construction of health institutions in the State. Extending Diwali greetings to the citizens, the Chief Minister asserted that a new era was being ushered in the State and hoped that the people would be prosperous and happy. He said his regime had implemented several welfare schemes for the benefit of all sections of society. Vacant posts of doctors had been filled up and many programmes had been started under the National Rural Health Scheme so that better health care facilities were provided in the far-flung areas. He urged the people to take advantage of these schemes. Addressing another public meeting, Mr. Hooda announced that a drug testing laboratory and a pharmacy would be set up in Kurukshetra and an Ayush Specialised Therapy Centre would be set up in B. D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Research, Rohtak. Addressing the gathering on the occasion of Bhagwan Dhanvantri Jayanti in Kurukshetra, he disclosed that Rs.34 crores had been earmarked to promote Ayurveda.
