Sentenced
BANGALORE: The Bangalore Rural District and Sessions Court has sentenced an autorickshaw driver and a woman to life imprisonment on finding them guilty of murdering a pygmy deposit collector. The judge has also directed the accused to pay fine of Rs. 3,000 each. Somashekar and Padmavati were convicted for murdering Ramesh in a lodge in the Kadugodi police station limits in February 2005. Somashekar, Padmavati and Nanda had a party in the lodge and later strangled Ramesh to death. All the four were residents of NGES Colony in Kamalanagar.
The lodge owner noticed the body and filed a complaint. — Staff Reporter
