dated November 10, 1957: Indo-Vietnam ties

A joint communiqué by Prime Minister Nehru and President Diem of South Vietnam expressed the determination of both countries “to continue to increase cooperation between the two countries in the pursuit of their common goal of economic and social advancement of their people. They hope that the problems of Vietnam will be solved peacefully and in the best interests of the people of Vietnam. They are resolved to work in their respective spheres for the maintenance of peace in the world and understanding between nations.”
