CID to probe opium case against Jaswant
Jaipur: The Criminal Investigation Department will look into the case filed against BJP leader Jaswant Singh and his party colleagues for allegedly serving and consuming a drink laced with opium, official sources said here on Friday.
The leaders, including three Rajasthan Ministers and the Chief Whip in the Assembly, have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for allegedly serving and consuming a drink laced with opium at a traditional get-together held at Jaswant Singh’s ancestral home at Jasol on October 31.
An investigation officer will be appointed as soon as the case file arrives at the police headquarters here, official sources said.
Besides Jaswant Singh, nine others booked are Raghuveer Singh Kaushal, Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi, Kailash Meghwal (all MPs), State Cabinet Ministers G.S. Tiwari, N.S. Rajvi, Madan Dilawar, Chief Whip Mahaveer Prasad Jain and two BJP MLAs Jogeshwar Garg and S.S. Rajpurohit. — PTI
