Parab fete from Nov. 16

Correspondent

KORAPUT: NREGA has diluted the atmosphere of PARAB, the annual tribal festival of Koraput district, this year from November 16 to 18.

The low level of expenditure from the allotted funds under NREGA has created a near to panicked situation among the officials in the district.

PARAB stages which were used primarily to spread the information on the rich culture and tradition of the region for the last 11 years , has now been utilised to its maximum for propagation of schemes like NREGA.

Jayaram Pangi MLA, Pottangi, while speaking at the closing ceremony of block level Parab celebration at Nandapur, had urged the officials to speed up their work and take initiative to complete this year’s target of Rs.7 cr. by March 2008 in the block. He had directed the officials to reactivate the village meetings, chalk out fresh plans for the village development.
