3 held for selling firecrackers illegally

HYDERABAD: Three persons were nabbed on Friday for illegally selling firecrackers at Arvindnagar in Chikkadpally.
Firecrackers worth over Rs.5 lakh were recovered from the possession of V. Venkateswara Rao (39), a resident of SBI Colony in Gandhinagar, and his business partners E. Uma Maheswara Rao (29), a native of Machilipatnam and K. Raju (35) of Kankipadu in Krishna district.
As per the law, owners should obtain permission from the Deputy Commissioner of Police for selling firecrackers. The police registered a case under Section 9 (B) of the Explosives Act against them.
