KOCHI: The police on Friday arrested a person on charges of committing online fraud and acquiring ownership of companies. The accused was identified as C. Lalaji, 50, of Kundara, Kollam. The police said that the accused collected information about sick industrial units and collected their data after giving promises of reviving them. Later, he forged documents through the website of the Registrar of Companies to place himself on the director board of these companies. A case in this connection was registered in Coimbatore, as he cheated a steel company there and a couple more in Palakkad. — Staff Reporter
