Three killed in road accidents

KANCHEEPURAM: Three persons were killed in different road accidents in Kancheepuram district on Thursday.

According to police, a motorcyclist was fatally knocked down by an unknown vehicle on Thandalam-Arakonam Road near Mannur lake at around 2 p.m. on Thursday.

The Sriperumpudur police have registered a case.

The identity of the victim is yet to be established.

At 4.30 p.m., Deepak (7) of Bajanaikoil Street, Sasthirambakkam, was run over by a van while he was playing with his friends on Bajanaikoil Street.

In another accident, the pillion rider of a motorcycle, Irudaya Thiraviyam (65) of Nesapakkam, was fatally knocked down after the vehicle collided with a State Transport Corporation bus near Vandalur Railway Gate at 5.45 p.m.

Chithirakumar, who was driving the motorcycle, sustained grievous injuries and was admitted to the Government General Hospital, Chennai.
