Formation of Muslim lobby urged

CHENNAI: The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, has suggested the formation of a well-organised non-political Muslim lobby, comprising intellectuals and learned scholars from the community, to persuade the government or its agencies at a time of crisis and to represent their grievances and requests to solve their problems.

He was addressing a meeting of the Peace Exhibition Organising Committee here on Thursday.

He urged the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board to assist and help various wakfs in the State to solve problems by developing wakf properties, increasing their rents and removing encroachments.

Maulana Fayaz Alam, Khateeb, Anjuman-e-Himayath-e-Islam mosque, Habibullah Badsha, senior Advocate, Hyder Ali, chairman, Tamil Nadu Wakf Board participated.
