Volvo bus fare revised

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has revised the passenger fare in Volvo buses.

The new fares will come into effect from November 10.

According to a press release, the corporation has decided to revert to the passenger fare that was in vogue prior to April 2007, when the fares were reduced following the operational loss and increase in earnings through commercial advertisements.

As per the revised fare chart, the cheapest fare is Rs. 10 and the costliest is Rs. 55. This is Rs. 10 more than the fare that was introduced in April 2007.

Routes

The revised fare is applicable on the following routes: Kempe Gowda Bus Station and J.P. Nagar VI Phase (Route no. V-2), Kempe Gowda Bus Station and Parangipalya (Route no. 340N), Kempe Gowda Bus Station and Yelahanka Satellite Town (Route no. 402B), Vijayanagar and ITPL (Route no. 500K), Banashankari and ITPL (Route no. 500L) and Kempe Gowda Bus Station and Bannerghatta National Park (Route no. 365), the release said.
