‘Jana Munnetta Yatra’ to be organised Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the yatra at Vadakara Kozhikode: Defence Minister A.K. Antony will inaugurate a special convention of Congress leaders organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) here on November 12. DCC president K.C. Abu told mediapersons here on Saturday that Mr. Antony would distribute photo identity cards to ward-level presidents of the party in the district. Ward-level, mandalam-level and block-level Congress leaders and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) members would participate in the convention. A ‘Jana Munnetta Yatra’ will be organised by the DCC from December 14 to 22 in the district to make the public aware of the “anti-people policies” of the government. KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the yatra at Vadakara on December 14. Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the valedictory of the yatra in the city on December 22. Mr. Abu alleged that the CPI(M) won the Kodencherry Service Cooperative Bank director board elections by committing irregularities. The Congress would legally challenge the CPI(M) victory.
