KOCHI: New appointments to Devaswom board will be made only after examining the history of the member nominated by political parties, said G. Sudhakaran, Minister for Cooperation and Devaswom. He was speaking after inaugurating a public meeting organised as part of 26th State meeting of Kerala Fire Service Association here on Saturday. The report on character of nominated members will be discussed at the Left Democratic Front (LDF) meeting before making appointments. This comes in the light of failure of all efforts to bring down corruption in the board, he said. The government had approved the master plan for Sabarimala almost a year ago, yet nothing could be done. Like doctors, Fire Force personnel too were part of essential service. But the latter performed their duties without striking work to raise their demands.
