“Celebration”: A work by Dharmendra Rathore on display at the exhibition “Coming Together”
NEW DELHI: Marking the 90th anniversary of the historic Bolshevik Revolution, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures is now on at Visual Arts Gallery of India Habitat Centre here at Lodhi Road.
Titled “Coming Together”, the show features a wide range of works by reputed artists such as Arpana Caur, Komala Varadan, Laxma Goud, Shamshad, Subrata Kundu, Neeraj Goswami, Nand Kishore, Dharmendra Rathore, Anoop Kamath, N. S. Rana, Jayant Gajera and T. Vaikuntam.
Two hundred writers, artists and lovers of art dedicated the show to Salima Hashmi, daughter of the legendary Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and democratic protesters now under arrest in Pakistan. They called for elections to be held in Pakistan by January 15 to facilitate an early restoration of democracy.
Hosted by Art Gallery, the exhibition opened this past Wednesday with a poetry recitation by Suneet Chopra, who is also the curator of the show.
