CHANDIGARH: A “Total Sanitation Campaign” has been implemented in all 20 districts of Haryana to improve the quality of life in rural areas by providing accelerated coverage of sanitary facilities and eliminating the practice of open defecation.
An official spokesman of the State Development and Panchayat Department said here on Saturday that under this programme individual toilets, women sanitary complexes, school toilets, anganwari toilets, rural sanitary marts and production centres were constructed.
The spokesperson disclosed that the amount of Rs.175.39 crore being spent on the programme had been shared by the Centre, the State Government and the beneficiaries.
