Chalk and Mouse, a newsletter for the teaching community, was recently launched by Tutors Worldwide Bangalore: Moving beyond the conventional and rather dreary ‘chalk and talk’ school of teaching comes an attempt to enhance the teaching-learning process in classrooms — this time drawing in the resources of the virtual world. Chalk and Mouse, a newsletter for the teaching community, was recently launched by Tutors Worldwide (TWWI), an online educational services provider. Published every alternate month, the magazine is designed to be a platform for educationists to share their ideas, concerns and classroom experiences for the benefit of the teaching community. The magazine will be edited by a board led by educationist R. Ananthan and will include principals and teachers on a rotational basis. From issue-based articles to teaching techniques, book and website reviews to fun activities for the ‘substitution class,’ the magazine aims to be a handy tool for innovative teachers. Puzzles and problems, articles on issues ranging from challenges faced by school management to integrated learning are what readers can look forward to in the first issue. Seminars and workshops on education will also be organised by the founders of the newsletter. Schools and teachers who wish to receive the magazine can send in their request with their postal address to magazine@twwi.co.in. The magazine will be available for free subscription for schools and school teachers.
