18-year-old drowns in the Yamuna

NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old boy was drowned in the Yamuna at Timarpur in Sonia Vihar here on Saturday evening while bathing in the river after submerging an idol of Goddess Kali.

The police said that Suresh, who had gone to the river for the ritual with his family, told them he would go for a swim with his friends around 4 p.m. It turned out to be a tragic outing. His body has been fished out of the river.
