Strike called off: Arabtec

DUBAI: Workers belonging to Dubai’s construction giant Arabtec have resumed work, ending their 10-day strike.

Nearly 40,000 workers had struck work, demanding a pay hike and an improvement in living conditions.

The workers, a majority of whom are Indians, were demanding a pay hike of dirham 200 (Rs. 2,000).

The agitation had hit all the 36 labour camps run by the company throughout the UAE. — PTI
