Govt. to set up 500 Mahila Shakti Sadans in rural areas

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to set up 500 Mahila Shakti Sadans in rural areas, according to State Women and Child Development Minister Kartar Devi.

These sadans would be constructed in villages where the Panchayats would provide 500 square yards of land free of cost for the purpose.

Ms. Kartar Devi disclosed that these sadans would provide a common place to women for organising various activities for their empowerment and awareness generation besides training camps and meetings.

The new sadans, built at a cost of about Rs. 10 lakhs each, would be equipped with computers and have adequate furniture, stationery and a library.
