This Day That Age
The President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, said in Bombay on November 10 that Sanskrit held the key to India’s ancient thought and culture and without studying it they could not familiarise themselves with their culture heritage. Dr. Prasad, who was delivering the convocation address of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, in Bombay on November 10, said that as a result of the Sanskrit Vishwa Parishad and Bharatiya Itihas Vibhag of the Bhavan, the importance of the study of Sanskrit was being realised in all parts of India and a programme for the study and popularisation of the language was expected to be evolved soon. The Parishad’s activities had also given impetus to the study of Sanskrit in colleges and universities.
