Hosur: The district administration has shifted the Hosur bus stand in order to carry out construction works. The temporary bus stand will be located at Sitharam Nagar on Hosur-Krishnagiri National Highway, Collector Santhosh Babu has said.
Owing to the existing traffic congestion and taking into account the scope for further increase in bus traffic the Government would construct a state-of-the-art bus stand exclusively for mofussil buses retaining the existing bus stand for town buses.
The full-fledged bus stand would have well-laid roads for buses and waiting platform for passengers. The Government had sanctioned Rs.5.84 crore for this purpose. Tenders had been floated and the construction works would commence shortly. Efforts would be taken to make it operational in 12 months, Mr. Babu added.
