Anniversary of Temple Entry Proclamation

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department for the Welfare of Backward and Scheduled Communities is organising a series of programmes here on November 13 in connection with the 71st anniversary of the Temple Entry Proclamation.

The Department conducted competitions in various cultural items at the district level. The winners from the districts would attend the State-level competition organised at Tagore Centenary Hall here on November 13.

There would be a ‘samooha sadya’ (community feast) at noon that day at the Kerala Hindu Mission headquarters here. It would be followed by a symbolic visit by members of all Hindu sub-communities to the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple for having ‘darshan.’ There would also be a public function at the VJT Hall that day to commemorate the proclamation, Minister for the Welfare of Backward and Scheduled Communities A.K. Balan said.
