Elaborate arrangements in place for ‘Guru Peyarchi’

THANJAVUR: ‘Guru Peyarchi’ festival will be celebrated for 10 days from November 15, at Sri Vasishteswaraswamy Temple at Thittai near Thanjavur where a separate temple for Guru Bhagawan exists.
A press release issued here by T. Govindaraj, Executive Officer of the temple said that Guru Bhagawan moves from Vrichika Rasi to Dhanur Rasi on November 15.
The temple had made elaborate arrangements to help devotees visiting the temple during ‘Guru Peyarchi’ and festivals that follow.
State Transport Corporation has arranged special buses to visit Thittai from Thanjavur and Kumbakonam on festival days.
Cultural programmes will be held every evening from November 15 to November 18.
Special darshan of Guru Bhagawan at Thittai temple can be had from 6 a.m. on November 15. People can have darashan of Guru Bhagawan for fifteen days from ‘Guru Peyarchi’ and perform archanas.
Those not able to come in person can send their names, address, rasi, natchathiram, lagnam with their address along with money order or demand draft to the Executive Officer, Sri Vasishteswarar Temple, Guru Parihara Sthalam, Thittai, Thanjavur District, 613 003, to do Laksharchana or parihara homam.
