The political situation in Karnataka has taken a u-turn with President’s Rule being revoked. The only fallout of the political drama was a 40-day loss of governance for the people. However, they can take solace from the fact that a general election, squandering huge sums of public money, was avoided at least for the time being. Governor Rameshwar Thakur deserves to be commended for his impartial report. Anand Radhakrishnan, Aluva K.S. Jayatheertha, Bangalore The BJP, in its haste to open its account in the south, has embraced the politics of expedience and opportunism.
