Bangalore: It was the turn of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee to file a complaint with the police against the senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party for using “defamatory” terms for Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. In a tit-for-tat to the police complaint lodged by the Bharatiya Janata Party Bangalore City unit against the former Minister and Satnur MLA D.K. Shivakumar for giving a call to his party workers to remove the trousers for dubbing Ms. Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi as “fake” Gandhis, KPCC office-bearers on Saturday lodged a written complaint with the Cubbon Park Police against BJP leaders for the statements. The complaint signed by Prakash Rathod, B.A. Hasanabba, P.M.Ashok and Kenche Gowda urged the police to take penal action against H.N. Ananth Kumar, general secretary of the BJP, and the state unit president D.V. Sadananda Gowda. Newspaper and video clippings containing the “defamatory” statements allegedly made by them have been furnished along with the complaint. The leaders charged Mr. Kumar and Mr. Gowda with calling their leaders as “nakali” Gandhis and the Congress leaders and workers as goondas and hired workers, when they addressed their party workers recently. Such statements were highly condemnable in the eyes of the general public, they argued. The statements, they said had not only provoked the Congress workers and the general public to agitate against Mr. Kumar but also affected peace and tranquillity, they said.
