Announce subsidies on CNG

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is being used as an alternative fuel for vehicles in major cities.

This fuel is being used for buses, cars and auto-rickshaws.

Its cost-effectiveness and environment-friendly

nature are encouraging many people to switchover from conventional fuel to the CNG. However, the Government, on its part, has to do a lot to promote CNG in all areas.

On the lines of subsidy being offered on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the Government should announce subsidies on

CNG and provide loans to buy CNG kits through banks at reasonable rates of interest.

Change schedule of water supply

Drinking water is being supplied to some areas in the city in the midnight and in the early hours of day.

As a result, residents of those areas are forced to wake up in the mid of the night to store water.

Hill areas on Visaalandhra Road are the best examples of this, where people get drinking water at 2 a.m.

We wonder why the officials do not think about the plight of people residing in these areas.

Can’t the drinking water be supplied either in the morning or in evening hours? I hope the officials of

the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation will look

into this problem and

change the schedule of water supply.

Launch special drive on traffic signals

Frequent interruptions to the functioning of traffic signal lights at important junctions in the city cause a lot of inconvenience to road users.

The problem is particularly acute during evening times, when it is difficult to understand the hand

signals of the traffic

police.

Many signal lights do not function properly and sometimes both red and green lights are being shown at a time, leaving vehicle drivers in confusion.

Though the police collect fines from violators of road rules promptly, they seem to bother least about the functioning of traffic lights. The police are advised to launch a special drive on traffic signal lights, on the lines of the drives they are launching to collect fines from violators of road rules.

Open branch post office

The road connecting Koneru Centre and Zilla Parishad office is the longest one in Machilipatnam, the headquarters of Krishna district.

Many shops, establishments and offices are located on this road.

But, there is no post office on this arterial road, due to which people are facing many difficulties. Particularly, it is difficult for students and jobseekers, who have to send applications for higher education and employment.

As the post office is located away from this road, people have to go to the other corner of the town to post their letters and buy stamps and envelops.

I request the authorities concerned to look into

the issue and take

immediate steps to open a branch post office on this road.
