Denied permission to visit Velayuthapuram

TIRUNELVELI: State president of the All India Forward Bloc M. Karthik, an actor-turned politician, was denied permission to visit Velayuthapuram, where the statue of Muthuramalinga Thevar was desecrated on November 4.

Mr. Karthik, who came to Tirunelveli on Sunday morning, was not allowed to move out of the hotel where he was staying.

The police told the actor that he could forward a petition to the district administration.
