TTD halt on VIP darshan

Bhakti Rathams to propagate Hindu dharma

Three first-aid centres planned at a cost of Rs. 2 cr.


TIRUMALA: In what is termed as a revolutionary decision, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board of trustees which met here on Monday resolved to cancel the issuance of VIP darshan pass both on Vaikunta Ekadasi and New Year Day.

Briefing mediapersons, TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy said that the decision was taken in the larger interest of the visiting devotees.

As the visiting number of pilgrims shall be very high on both the festive occasions, the TTD management has thought it wise to dispense with the issuance of VIP darshan tickets so as to facilitate more number of ordinary devotees have darshan of the lord.

The board also resolved to air-condition all the compartments in both the massive Vaikuntam queue complexesbeside setting up of over 103 plasma colour television sets in all the compartments for the benefit of the waiting devotees.To further propagate Hindu dharma and human values among the people of the State, it was also resolved to organise Bhakti Chaitanya yatras from December 1. As part of the programme, three Bhakti Chaintanya Rathams will go around the State covering a distance of more than 9000 km. Three first-aid centres shall be set up at the thickly congregated Kalyanakatta Centre, pilgrim amenities complex and at the main temple mahadwaram at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.

The board also resolved to set up a spinal rehabilitation centre at its BIRRD Hospital at a cost of Rs.1.92 crore besides purchasing a haemodialysis machine for SVIMS .
