Thrissur: Three passengers of the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Mail (2627) were on Monday admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital here after they complained of uneasiness. Vasudevan Pillai, 64, of Vasudeva Mandiram at Neduvathur in Kottarakara, his wife, Vijayamma, 57, and nephew, Ajay, 35, complained to the police they were drugged by four Hindi-speaking persons as the train reached Jolarpet. “We became unconscious after consuming a soft drink (in tetra-packs) they gave us,” Mr. Pillai told the police. They said they regained consciousness on Monday morning, felt uneasy and alerted the train ticket examiner. The police said that no theft was reported.
