VIJAYAWADA: Following a complaint from the residents of Governorpet, Municipal Commissioner Natarajan Gulzar on Monday issued orders to seal the office of a transport parcel office, besides suspending in-charge Town Planning Building Officer R. Jhansi Rani from duties. The residents lodged a complaint with the Commissioner that the transport parcel office belonging to K. Srinivasa Rao of Cherukupallivari Street had occupied a portion of road, due to which the users of the road were facing much inconvenience. Reacting swiftly, Mr. Gulzar issued orders asking the town planning staff to seal the office and remove the encroachments. He held Ms. Jhansi Rani responsible for the inconvenience, as no action was taken against the shop owner till the residents lodged a complaint. Mr. Gulzar, however, agreed later to open the office on the condition that the road would not be encroached in the future.
