DHARMAVARAM: A resident of this weavers’ town, Phanishetty Gopal, has won a Tata Indica car in the 20-million celebration offer scheme of Tata Indicom. He is the second winner of a car under the nation-wide offer of the private telecom operator after another customer of Tirupati. The car was handed over to the winner at a function held here on Tuesday by S Ramakrishna, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Andhra Pradesh Circle, Tata Teleservices Limited. Speaking on the occasion, he said Tata Indicom was the fastest growing telecom company in the country according to TRAI data accounting for maximum share in the market growth, according to a press release of the company. The company had recently crossed the 20-million customer base across the country and Andhra Pradesh accounted for 10 per cent of the total. A significant feature of the growth in the State was that while it took 10 years to add the first 10 lakh customers it had taken only 18 months to get the next 10 lakh customers. The Tata Indicom had announced ‘20-million celebration offer’ across the country under which every new connection would come with increased free talk time and scratch card that could be a passport to loads of exciting gifts like 6 Tata Safaris, 8 Indica cars, 150 bikes, 500 flat television sets and 5,000 DVD players.
