ANANTAPUR: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists took out a procession and staged a rasta roko here on Tuesday condemning the arrest of two journalists in Kurnool district last week for exposing the irregularities in the Indiramma housing scheme. Party activists and leaders participated in the procession taken out from the TD party office to the Sapthagiri Circle holding placards and raising slogans. Led by district president of the party U. Hanumantharaya Chowdary, Politburo member K. Srinivasulu, former MP K.M. Saifullah, A. Narasa Naidu and others, the activists demanded immediate release of the arrested scribes and sought to know how far it was justified to arrest them for exposing the irregularities in a scheme. They termed it as an abuse of freedom of the press.
