Construction of hi-tech bus stand to begin soon

Hosur: The civic authorities on Tuesday started demolishing the old structure of the Hosur bus stand. The Collector, Santhosh Babu, has directed the State-run and private fleet to touch the temporary bus stand at Sitharam Nagar on the Hosur-Krishnagiri Highway without fail.
A common register would be maintained to record the arrival of the buses. Instructions were given to officials concerned to provide eateries, shops, drinking water and toilet facilities at the new bus stand for the benefit of passengers he said.
Mr. Babu said that construction of the hi-tech bus stand was expected to begin shortly.
The Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs.5.84 crore for this purpose. The new terminus would include adequate number of parking bays for government and private fleet, entry and exit gates and approach passages. The construction of the new terminus would be completed in 12 months time.
