Bangalore
Computer Society meet this month
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Information technology (IT) professionals and technology aficionados are in for a treat of sorts as Bangalore will play host to an event which will bring leaders and entrepreneurs in the world of technology from across India under one roof.
The 42nd Annual Convention of the CSI (Computer Society of India) will be held at The Grand Ashok from November 28 to December 1 this year. The convention returns to Bangalore after four years with the theme “GenNext India: Harnessing the power of IT”.
The event is scheduled to have talks and paper presentations by eminent professors and achievers from the IT industry, on topics ranging from the role of IT in retail to the booming gaming industry in India. The event will be inaugurated by the former President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, though the organisers say that this needs to be confirmed.
There will be three parallel sessions on a wide range of technical as well as trade related subjects. While two of these sessions will deal with technical papers which will be of interest to working IT professionals, the convention has dedicated one session to student workshops.
