Corrections and clarifications

* The first paragraph in a report “Yeddyurappa to be sworn in today” (November 12, 2007, page 1) was: “Bharatiya Janata Party leader B.S. Yeddyurappa will be sworn in the 19th Chief Minister of Karnataka at 12.10 p.m. on Monday ….” A reader wondered whether the figure was right, saying that a television channel had said that he was the 25th Chief Minister. The Bangalore Bureau clarifies that Mr. Yeddyurappa is indeed the 19th Chief Minister, while it is the 25th ministry to have been formed in Karnataka.

* An AFP report “Seven killed in Finnish school shooting” (“International” page, November 8, 2007) had no details of the exact location of the incident. The only references were to the school being in southern Finland (in the first paragraph) and, later, in the third paragraph, to it being the Jokela secondary school, north of Helsinki. The incident took place in Tuusula, north of Finland’s capital, Helsinki.
