NEW DELHI: A 33-year-old native of Manipur, suspected to be the leader of a Kuki outfit, was bludgeoned to death by unidentified assailants at Sriniwaspuri here on Monday. The incident took place well past midnight on Sunday night when K. Hangshing was repeatedly hit on the head with a hammer at his rented accommodation in Hari Nagar Ashram. His room-mates took him to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences where he was declared brought dead.
Hangshing, who was unwell, had come to Delhi to stay with his brother David and his friends a fortnight ago and was under treatment at a hospital. The police said it was still not clear whether he was killed by his room-mates or people from outside and the matter was under investigation.
