Teaching staff begin relay hunger strike

HYDERABAD: Members of the Joint Council of Action, comprising college teachers, non-teaching staff, employees of junior colleges and aided junior colleges principals’ associations, on Tuesday commenced a four-day relay hunger-strike to press their demands.

Chukka Ramaiah, MLC, inaugurated the fast camp to focus attention on demands like withdrawal of GO 35 (banning recruitment in aided colleges), regularisation of part-time lecturers and implementation of GO103 (payment of salary on the first of every monthMembers of the Legislative Council Laxman Rao, Balasubramanyam and D.Ram Reddy, addressed the camp.
