No power cuts for Chhath

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Delhi Power Minister A. K. Walia has instructed the three power distribution companies in the Capital to ensure 24-hour power supply during the four days of Chhath Puja that begins on Wednesday. The discoms have also been instructed not to resort to power cuts on these days.

The Minister issued the instructions after meeting a delegation of various Chhath Puja samitis which urged him to ensure that there is no disruption in power supply. The delegation had also called for adequate lighting at all ghats on November 16 and 17.

Underlining the need for ensuring uninterrupted power supply, the delegation said Poorvanchalis in Delhi celebrate this festival with fervour.
