Agents sending people to Gulf illegally under scanner
HYDERABAD: The State Government has decided to crackdown on unauthorised agents, who are cheating gullible people by providing them illegal documents to work in Gulf countries.
Alarmed by the growing number of instances of people facing hardships after landing in an alien country with improper work permits, the Government has decided to keep a close watch on the agents. Energy Minister Md. Ali Shabbir, who handles NRI affairs in the State, has said that the Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) K. Arvind Rao would write to the SPs of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Adilabad, Medak, East and West Godavari districts to launch a drive to arrest the unauthorised agents.
So far three such agents had been arrested by the State police on charges of cheating people with promise of employment. One agent hailing from Tamil Nadu, who was operating in Kamareddy town in Nizamabad district, was arrested while two others were nabbed in Karimnagar district, Mr. Shabbir told reporters on Tuesday.
