Protest against Nandigram violence

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) New Democracy staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar here on Tuesday to condemn the violence against the peasants resisting land acquisition at Nandigram in West Bengal.

Alleging that the peasants was facing extermination and displacement at the hands of the CPI (M) and the police, the CPI (M-L) New Democracy in a statement said: ``We condemn the violence let loose on the peasantry at Nandigram by the ruling party. Members of the party and the police personnel involved in the acts of violence must be removed from the area and the cadres and leaders guilty of violence must be punished.”
