BHADRACHALAM: The value system embodied in the Ramayana holds good for all ages, according to Pothuri Venkateswar Rao, veteran journalist and former chairman of the AP Press academy on Tuesday. Addressing a national seminar on the Ramayana organised by the Government P.G. College here, he said that the great epic had taught the science of righteous living, laid down the duties and responsibilities of the individual towards society. He said Lord Rama was the personification of virtue and morality. He had demonstrated what could be the responsibility of a person towards his parents, family and people. His life could depict the enormity in the path of dhrama. In Vishnupurana to claim that the Ramasethu was built by Lord Rama himself and the lord describes to his consort, Seeta the beauty of the Sethu after their reunion. Certain aspects of the epic appear to be strange. It is all viewed as part of the effort to give the characters their right presentation. Kovela Suprasannacharya said Lord Rama was the embodiment of virtue, valour and character and he was the creation of human being in his complete and best ever form. Epic Ramayana was just the story of the man in his supreme living form. Mahama Gandhi had visualised Ramaranya because it was a society where in every subject is taken care of. T. Purushotam Rao, chairman, high power committee ( Raid), said that the significance of Ramayana was recognized world over. The impact and influence of epic proved to be sans boundaries. He said the message of righteousness should be carried forward to the future generations. Chilakapati Raghavacharya, secretary, TTD Dharma Prachara Parishad, said that the Bhadrachalm was the capital of Ramaparampara and such seminarsshould be organized at this place more often. Rama is an ocean of campassion and one cannot assess the range of his grace. Ch. Marianna, Principal of the college, also spoke.
