They demanded legal action against outfits supporting the LTTE
CHENNAI: A meeting of Congress legislators on Monday passed a resolution urging the Government to provide security to presidents of recognised political parties in the State.
The meeting also wanted the Government to initiate departmental action against the police officers posted in the area where Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy was attacked recently.
They pointed out that some parties and organisations having links with the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam were organising meetings, protests and debates under the pretext of condolence meeting.
The meeting wanted the Government to initiate legal action against all outfits supporting the LTTE.
Condemning the attack on Tamil Nadu Youth Congress president Mayura Jayakumar at Sathyamurthi Bhavan on Sunday, the meeting appealed to the Government to take action against those involved in the attack and those responsible for it.
