Blast rocks Manila

MANILA: A blast occurred near an entrance lobby of the Philippine House of Representatives complex on Tuesday night soon after a Congress session, killing at least one person and wounding six, said police. They said the blast occurred at the southern wing of Batasan Pambansa, the Congress complex. The ceiling of the lobby was partially destroyed while vehicles parked outside the building were engulfed in blaze. A television network quoted the police saying at least three lawmakers and three Congress staff were injured. The blast occurred minutes after the House of Representatives ended the session. — Xinhua
