B.C. Roy Trophy from today

GURGAON: The 44th junior National football championship for the B.C. Roy Trophy kicks off at four different venues in two Haryana cities on Wednesday with 28 teams vying for the title. The teams have been divided into seven clusters.

Defending champion Jharkhand opens its campaign against Tripura on Thursday, a day after the opening set of six matches.

Host Haryana takes on Puducherry in a seemingly one-sided contest after the official opening ceremony at the Sector 38 Sports Complex here on Wednesday afternoon. — Principal Correspondent
