Road rage accused still at large

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The two men who allegedly smashed a Maruti Esteem car, injuring a young man and attacking his sister following an altercation over right of way at Vikaspuri here on Sunday, are still at large.

According to the police, the two have been identified as Abhijeet and Vinay, both residents of Vikaspuri.

The “road rage” incident took place around 12-30 p.m. on Sunday when Akshay Mehta and his elder sister Akanksha were going out in their Esteem car to meet their relatives.

The complainants alleged that a Wagon-R coming from the opposite direction blocked the road. An altercation ensued following which the accused allegedly pulled out a baseball bat and smashed the windscreen of the Maruti Esteem, injuring Akshay on the face.

The police are mounting raids to trace the accused.
