Good response to ‘diabetes walk’

VISAKHAPATNAM: A walkathon conducted on the beach road on Wednesday jointly by Apollo Hospitals and Novo Nordisk on the occasion of World Diabetes Day evoked tremendous response from the denizens of the city.

The walk was flagged off by rural SP Akun Sabharwal at Kali temple junction and culminated at the YMCA. King George Hospital Superintendent T. Ravi Raju was the guest of honour.

Members from the Visakha Walkers’ Association, Millennium Walkers’ Club, MVP Colony, Friends Walkers’ Club and Women’s Walkers Club from PM Colony, Chaitanya Walkers’ Association, Madhurawada and members of Rotary Clubs attended.

Blood screening was conducted at YMCA among some of the participants followed by a cultural programme.
