MACHILIPATNAM: As many as 298 candidates have been selected by the District Selection Committee (DSC)-2006 of Krishna district.
District Education Officer D.V. Krishna Vinayak released the results on Wednesday under instructions from DSC chairman and district Collector Navin Mittal.
As against the 298 vacancies notified earlier, 235 candidates have been selected while another seven posts are under litigation. The remaining 56 posts have been left vacant. The DEO said that the certificates of candidates would be verified in the conference hall of Sri Padmavathi Hindu Mahila Kalasala here on November 17, while counselling would be conducted in the meeting hall of Zilla Parishad on November 19. The counselling would be held in the forenoon for school assistants and in the afternoon for language pandits and physical education teachers. The break-up of the selected candidates under the category of school assistants (with the notified vacancies in brackets) is as follows: Mathematics – 21 (24); Physical Science – 11 (14); Biological Science – 22 (22); English – 6 (14); Social Studies – 29 (31); Telugu – 20 (23); Hindi – 6 (7); and Sanskrit – 0 (1).
