JAIPUR: As many as 237 panchayat samitis and 1,100 village panchayats across Rajasthan have been connected with a State-wide computer network for monitoring agricultural and rural development works and transmission of informative programmes on these sectors through a central server. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Kalulal Gujjar interacted with the Chief Executive Officers of various zila parishads through video conferencing from the Network Management Centre here on Wednesday to monitor the progress of public welfare schemes. The computer network project, launched in December 2005, has now covered all 32 districts in the State. Mr. Gujjar asked the CEOs about the progress of NREGS, the mid-day meal scheme, Nirmal Gram Yojana, State Finance Commission’s plans, total sanitation programme and the status of departmental inquiries against elected representatives.
